The cryptocurrency market came under heavy pressure on October 29, 2026, after Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, disclosed a security incident with an estimated impact of about $6.3 billion, the biggest theft in the history of digital assets. BNB, the exchange’s native token, was hit harder than any other top-ten cryptocurrency.BNB dropped 8.7% in a single hour on Thursday evening, falling from $744.90 to $680 as funds were drained from Binance hot wallets across ten blockchains. Today (Friday), 30 October 2026, BNB is changing hands between $700 and $715, down roughly 5–6% over 24 hours, as traders rework their BNB price prediction and wait for the exchange to restart withdrawals.
Why Is BNB Price Falling? Binance Hack Triggers Sell-Off
The first signs of trouble appeared at around 20:05 UTC on Thursday, when billions of dollars began leaving Binance-linked wallets for freshly created addresses. Most of the funds moved within roughly 20 minutes. At 21:15 UTC, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) became the first high-profile figure to confirm what on-chain analysts suspected.
User funds are safe!
It does look like a hack on Binance. Appreciate the quick freeze from Tether (~$971m) and Circle (~$823m).
I don’t manage Binance (.com) anymore, but as a shareholder, I expect all user funds will be fully covered. https://t.co/oufpyNChxI

Minutes later, Binance published its first official statement, saying its teams were investigating reports of a potential security issue.

The scale of the breach became clear within the hour. The Kobeissi Letter reported multibillion-dollar outflows across several networks, a post that Elon Musk later quote-shared with the comment “Everyday is Zeroday.”
BREAKING: Binance has been hacked with wallets across the Ethereum, Bitcoin, and TRON networks seeing outflows of -$5.7 billion.
The hack includes $1.45 billion worth of Bitcoin and $875 million worth of ETH.
If confirmed, this would mark the biggest hack in crypto history.

Dominick John, analyst at Zeus Research, summarized the market impact: “The Binance exploit has intensified market-wide selling, with BNB facing the greatest exposure. About $1.5 billion in 24-hour liquidations, predominantly long positions, has amplified pressure on BTC and ETH.” According to CoinGlass data cited by The Block, liquidations reached $1.55 billion, of which $1.34 billion came from long positions.
Binance Confirms $6.3 Billion Impact and Freezes $3 Billion
In an update early on Friday, Binance said its initial investigation pointed to a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which gave an attacker access to a service container used to submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions.

A later update said the investigation had “uncovered additional points of breach” and stressed that “no individual engineer’s permissions could have been used to move the funds in ‘one click.’ The theft involved a more complex, multi-step process.” Blockchain analytics firms TRM Labs and Chainalysis attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, the North Korean hacking unit behind the $1.5 billion Bybit hack in 2025, which this incident now eclipses as the largest on record.Glassnode data showed $1.66 billion in USDT, $1.45 billion in Bitcoin and $767 million in USDC were drained. Tether froze more than 1.567 billion USDT and Circle more than 800 million USDC linked to the theft, helping Binance put the verified frozen total at around $3 billion. Co-CEO Richard Teng addressed users directly: “Bottom line – your money is safe, and we’re covering every loss.” Binance said all losses will be covered by its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and company funds.Importantly for the BNB price prediction, the hack did not touch BNB Chain. BNB Chain confirmed that BNB Smart Chain, opBNB, BNB Greenfield and the BNB Chain Bridge were unaffected, and Glassnode said Binance’s BNB balance was “left untouched.” What traders are pricing is exchange risk, not stolen tokens.
Hawkish Fed and Deleveraging Add to the Pressure
The hack landed in an already fragile market. On October 28, the Federal Reserve kept the federal funds rate at 3.75%–4.00% in a 10-2 vote, with two dissenters favoring another hike after September’s 25-basis-point increase. Hotter PCE inflation and talk of a December hike had already pushed traders toward Bitcoin and cash, while spot Ether ETFs bled more than $1.1 billion in October, their worst month of 2026. Total crypto market capitalization fell about 3% to $2.64 trillion, and the Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index dropped to 30, its lowest reading since August 14.Not every analyst expects lasting damage. Rick Maeda, head of markets at Laevitas, described BNB’s drop as “quite modest for possibly the largest exchange theft ever,” pointing to Binance’s $144 billion in assets under custody and the rapid freezes by Tether and Circle. Jeff Ko, chief analyst at ViaBTC, added: “The broader crypto market was already leaning bearish, which is why the sell-off spread so quickly across the board.”
BNB Price Prediction: Technical Analysis Points to a Decisive $680 Test
My technical analysis shows BNB broke sharply lower from the $745 area where it traded before the hack, slicing through the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $692.49 before buyers stepped in at $680, the low of the hack hour. The rebound stalled at $720 by 03:00 UTC on Friday, turning that level into immediate resistance. BNB now trades almost 49% below its all-time high of $1,370 set in October 2025, with a market capitalization of around $92 billion.Derivatives data favor caution. On OKX, the BNB perpetual funding rate flipped from +0.01% before the hack to -0.0434% at 08:00 UTC on Friday, meaning shorts are paying longs, while open interest jumped 20% from $54.8 million to $66 million. At the same time, smaller accounts are buying the dip, lifting the long-to-short ratio to 2.79. That setup cuts both ways: good news could fuel a short squeeze, while a break lower would put crowded longs at risk.In the bullish scenario, a smooth restart of withdrawals would let BNB reclaim $720 and target the pre-hack level at $745.74, followed by the $750–$760 resistance zone. Only a daily close above $760 would confirm that bulls are back in control. In the base case, BNB consolidates between $680 and $720 until withdrawals resume. Support stands at $692.49 (200-day EMA), $680 and $674.60, the September 1 low. A daily close below $674.60 would mean bears are gaining the upper hand and could open the way toward $650, matching the 12.7% drawdown seen after the 2022 BNB Chain bridge exploit, with a deeper test near $615 if the decline mirrors the 17.5% drop that followed the 2019 hack.History suggests exchange-driven sell-offs in BNB tend to be temporary. After the May 2019 theft of 7,000 BTC, BNB fell 17.5% to $18.30 but was 39.2% higher a month later. After the October 2022 bridge exploit, BNB bottomed 12.7% below its pre-hack close and was up 20.5% after 30 days. I would treat a move toward $650–$675 as a technical correction rather than a change of trend, as long as Binance delivers on its withdrawal timeline.Source – Tradingview.com
Withdrawal Restart Is the Key Catalyst
Binance co-CEO Yi He said in a service update on X: “We expect to begin resume withdrawal services in the next 48 hours,” adding that deposits continue to operate normally. The exchange later said it remained on track to restore withdrawals in about 45 hours and plans to publish an updated Proof of Reserves report once remediation is complete. Network fundamentals also remain intact, with BNB Chain’s Jenner hard fork live on testnet, introducing a Payment Lane that reserves 5% of block gas for payment transactions.
Broader Crypto Market: Bitcoin, Ethereum and Crypto Stocks Fall
Bitcoin fell to a six-week low of $76,368 before recovering toward $78,500, while Ether dropped to around $2,240 and XRP lost 7%. DeFi tokens also slid, with AAVE down 11.3% after the lending protocol froze new deposits and borrowing as a precaution. Crypto stocks followed, with Coinbase, Strategy, Circle and MARA Holdings falling between 5.7% and 6.4% in premarket trading on Friday. Hyperliquid’s HYPE token was a rare winner, surging 9% to $92.67.
BNB Price Prediction FAQ
Why is BNB price falling today?
BNB is falling because of the $6.3 billion Binance hack disclosed on October 29, 2026. As Binance’s native token, BNB trades as a proxy for confidence in the exchange, so it fell more than Bitcoin and Ether. A hawkish Fed and $1.55 billion in liquidations amplified the move.
Was BNB stolen in the Binance hack?
No. The attacker drained stablecoins, Bitcoin, Ether and other assets from Binance hot wallets. BNB Chain was not affected, and Glassnode said Binance’s BNB balance was left untouched.
What is the BNB price prediction for this week?
The near-term BNB price prediction hinges on Binance restarting withdrawals over the weekend. A smooth reopening could lift BNB to $720 and then the $745–$760 zone, while a daily close below $674.60 could expose $650 and $615.
Will BNB recover after the Binance hack?
Past incidents suggest it can. BNB rose 39.2% within a month of the 2019 hack and 20.5% within 30 days of the 2022 bridge exploit. A recovery this time depends on Binance covering all losses through SAFU and company funds, publishing its Proof of Reserves and avoiding a rush of withdrawals once the exchange reopens.
